L'oreal Warehouse Sale Fall 2014 Haul ( Sept 20- Oct 12 2014)

Here it is, finally!!! :)  I've been waiting for this sale for the longest time. Everytime I go to Walmart I would stop by the L'oreal and Maybelline section to check out the quads and the infallible eyeshadows and never buy them coz I know they will be much cheaper at the warehouse sale. I was able to get a few Maybelline tattoos on sale at Target a few months back and loved it so much that I wanted more! So as you can see I hoarded the Maybelline quads and tattoos :) LOL.

Ok, here's what I got:
130,400, 300, 100, 200, 140
I got 6 Maybelline Quads for $2.75 each, reg $ 9.96. Thats is definitely a steal!

Here are the rest of the Maybelline products I got:
Master Glaze in Plums Up - $ 3.75, reg $9.96
Master Highlight in Nude - $ 3.75, reg $12.96
Baby Lips - $2.75, reg $ 3.96
Bigeyes Falsies Mascara - $3.75, reg $ 8.96
Dream Lumi concealer in Beige - $ 3.75 - reg $ 9.96
Color tattoos in Rich Mahogany, Edgy Emerald, Electric Blue and Mossy Green - $ 2.75 each , reg $ 6.96

Here's the L'oreal products:
Voluminous Power 24H mascara - $ 2.75, reg $ 8.96
True Match foundation in Suntan - $ 6.75, reg $ 12.98
Magic BB in Fair - $ 5.75, reg $ 10.96
Visible Lift in Classic Ivory - $ 4.25, reg $ 5.99 ( saleevent.ca)
Youth Code BB Cream in Medium - $ 4.75, reg $ 19.96
Quads in Neon Skirt and Midnight - $3 each, reg $ 9.96
Infallible eyeshadows in Bronze Divine and Magnetic Coral - $3 ea, reg $9.32
Lipgloss in Infinite Fuchsia - $ 3, reg $ 7.96

A couple of Garnier products:
Hydra recharge - $2, also on sale at walmart for the same price!
Ultralift Eye roller - $ 4.75, reg $ 16.47

And lastly....
Lancome Hypnose Star mascara - $ 18.75, reg $33.50 - the most expensive one in this haul!

I am totally pleased with what I got and in total I saved about 60% off retail ( compared to Walmart prices). So again, never buy these products at full price! Be patient and wait for the warehouse sales! :)

The Revlon sale is also ongoing at the International Center, in case you want Revlon, Cover Girl and other P & G products...

Until next time...

XOXO

L.A. Girl Glazed Lip Paint - Review and Swatches

Hey Glamourose peeps! It's been over a month since my last post and I have a lot of stuff I wanted to share with you :) First is this LA Girl Glazed Lip Paint! I've seen a lot of good reviews and I got curious about this product, however I can't find any Canadian reseller online! It's probably at the Designer Cosmetic Shop but I'm sure the price will be more than double ( sucks to be in Canada sometimes :( ) Anyways, I found it at ikatehouse.com and their shipping charges are very reasonable. They sell it for $2.99 each but  if you buy a set of 6 shades  ( which was the original release - now they have 18 shades), you can get it for $15.99 and shipping to Canada is only $7+! I got the shades Coy, Bombshell, Hot Mess, Baby Doll, Blushing and Pin-Up.

Here are the swatches:
LA Girl Glazed Paint Blushing

LA Girl Glazed Paint Bombshell
Bombshell
LA Girl Glazed Paint Coy
Coy
LA Girl Glazed Paint Hot Mess
Hot Mess
LA Girl Glazed Paint Baby Doll
Baby Doll
LA Girl Glazed Paint Pin-Up
Pin-Up

My favorite is the shade Blushing - it's like a nude pink brown. Sorry the pictures does not do justice to the actual color :( Bombshell is Fuchsia, Coy is Purple, Hot Mess is Orange, Pin-Up is Red and baby Doll is Barbie Pink. All these shades are very opaque and pigmented. I used a lip brush to apply to kinda lighten it up, otherwise it will be very intense. It has a minty feel when you apply it  due to the peppermint oil but it does not feel dry even after hours of wear and no sticky feeling. It also has a long wear time and fades nicely. I would say it lasted about 3-4 hours on me, even after drinking and eating.

I really love this product and for the price I can honestly say, you get more than what you paid for! This is definitely a good buy for me! I hope to get more.... soon! :)

XOXO

MAC Warehouse Sale Haul - June 2014 (75% savings!)

The MAC - Estee Lauder Warehouse sale started yesterday ( Friday, June 6) and this is my first time going on the first day of this 3-day sale. My sister-in-law and I went there in the afternoon, around 1:30, to avoid the crowd and the typical long line-ups, and we were successful, there was no line up at all!

Without further ado, here's the snapshot of what I got:

Here are the prices:

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion - $10 ( they sell as 2 for $20) ( reg $ 30+ each)
Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay All Day Foundation in Tawny- $12 (reg $ 44)
Tom Ford Foundation Stick in Caramel - $15 ( reg U$ 78!)
Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick in Warm Natural - $ 12 ( reg $ 53)
MAC Snow Globe Warm Palette - $12.50 ( they sell as 2 for $25) ( reg $ 38)
Bobbi Brown Ultimate Party Palette - $15 ( they sell as 2 for $30) ( reg $ 65)
MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre - $ 12 ( reg $ 20)
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Lighscapade - $ 15 ( reg $ 32)
MAC Brush in 266 ( not in the picture coz its for my friend) $ 12 ( reg $20)

The FREE gift when you surrender your ticket at the exit is the MAC Prolong wear eyeshadow in Always Sunny ( reg $ 21)

The Charity Bag ( the items in the plastic bag), which costs $5/bag, includes MAC Fluidline Gel Liner ( reg $ 16), MAC Lipstick  ( reg $18) and MAC Mineralize eyeshadow ( $21)

And here are some of the swatches:

So again, I am very pleased with what I got and for the price I paid! I won't be able to purchase any of these items if it's not on sale or heavily discounted like this! :) Although these are from past releases or from Holiday collections from past years, they are not expired and being a  high end make up, the quality remains the same. The no 1 reason why I went on a Friday is to get a glimpse of  a Tom Ford make up, I was hoping there was a lipstick , but I'm happy with my foundation stick, which never in a million years will I buy at a regular price!

As I previously mentioned in my post, they also have brands like Origins, Bumble and Bumble, DKNY fragrances, Clinique, Smashbox, Coach Fragrances, Michael Kors fragrances, and a lot more which some of them I haven't heard of,  basically  all the brands under the Estee Lauder group.

Although I am happy with my purchases it is kinda disappointing that their prices are continuously going up!They don't even have the $4 bin section this time. :( A few years back I was able to buy 3 MAC eyeshadow palettes for 3 for $35 now its $25 per palette, their pigment set used to be $18 nowt its $25! I also don't understand the idea behind the "2 of the same item for a discounted price" deal?! Why can't they offer a mix match deal like before?? Sorry if I'm ranting here, just saying... LOL

Anyways, my make up junkie friends, I hope you enjoy this haul and I really hope you don't buy your make up at full price! :) Schedule your make up purchases around these warehouse sales and you will save a ton of money, I promise! Next Estee Lauder sale is around Sept. There will be another Lancome / Loreal Sale sometime in October, then NARS , Shiseido Sale in November and the last of the MAC sale for the year is in December. There's also the Revlon Sale in between these months.

Until then....

NARS / Shiseido Warehouse Sale Spring 2014 Haul

So I went to the NARS sale yesterday ( Saturday) and after reading previous posts and asking pixelbunny about the best time to go there, I decided to go in the afternoon. I arrived at 1pm, there were about 10 people in the line and in less than 5 minutes I was inside! It was not as chaotic as some people had experienced so I was very pleased :) I went there with a goal, just get NARS products and stick to my budget! I'm proud to say I was able to do it! Woo Hoo!!

Here's an overview of what I got:
The Shiseido products are from the Gift bag that you can purchase at the cashier. They increased the price to $20 as they added a foundation refill and a concealer to the usual 6 pcs of eyeshadows, which is still good I guess..

Here's the details of what I got and their price:

NARS
Sheer Matte Foundation in Tahoe - $15 ( reg $ 55)
The Multiple in Maldives - $15 (reg $ 46)
Concealer in Ginger - $10 (reg $ 28)
Lip Gloss in Dolce Vita - $ 10 ( reg $29)
Lipstick in Tutti Frutti - $10 ( reg $30)
Eyeshadow Duo in Paramaribo - $10 (reg $ 39)

SHISEIDO - Gift Bag - All for $20!
4 x Simmering Cream Eyecolor in Black, Moss Green, Lime Green and Gold ( reg $30 each!)
1 x Hydro Powder Eyeshadow in Tiger Eye ( Copper - peach orange) (reg $25)
Perfect Smoothing Compact Refill in Natural Fair Ivory ( reg $ 36 )
Concealer in Light Enhancer ( reg $ 25 )

Here's the fun part, the swatches :)

The first 2 from left are the NARS Duo then the rest are Shiseido

Here's another view, bottom 2 are the NARS Duo

From L-R: Dolce Vita, Tutti Frutti, NARS Ginger Concealer, Multiple in Maldives and Shiseido Concealer

I must say the Tutti Frutti lipstick and Dolce Vita lipgloss are a match made in heaven! They are so perfect together, its the perfect pink brown color! All the eyshadows are great too. I purposely didn't get a lot of NARS eyeshadows coz I know I'm getting the eyehadow gift bag from Shiseido, and I'm not disappointed at all the colors I got. I will definitely use them all! The Multiple in Maldives is so gorgeous, its definitely perfect for summer!

One thing I noticed though is that the foundation and concealer shades are mostly for medium to dark skin tones. The lightest I found for the foundation is Tahoe, which is med-dark. I wanted to get Custard for concealer but they were already out so I got Ginger, which is almost my skin tone. Maybe they were sold out during the VIP sale?? They also have a sign about the NARS gift bag for $20 but the were already sold out :(

If you missed this spring sale, next one is in the fall, watch out for the announcement. In the meantime, you may want to head out to the MAC / Estee Lauder Sale on June 6-8. It's by invitation only and I still have a few tickets to give away, just follow my blog and like my facebook page www.facebook.com/glamourose.ca and send me a message.

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed it! :)

Until then...

FREE MAC / Estee Lauder Warehouse Sale Tickets- June 6-8 2014

If you are reading this post, you probably know about the quarterly warehouse sale at Markham Fairgrounds of MAC/ Estee Lauder and all the other brands under it like Michael Kors, Coach, Clinique, Origins, Smashbox to name a few. And you probably want to know how to get free tickets for this event! I have seen a lot of people selling these tickets as much as $20 each on Kijiji! No matter how tempting it is to sell my tickets, I can't do so coz I got it for FREE! Estee Lauder usually mails me 15 tickets  ( 5 on each day of the sale) , so it would have been $300 in my pocket to use on this sale! From one make-up junkie to another, all I wanted is to share all the good finds I come across with and hopefully I could help make-up fanatics like me who does not want to break a bank to feed our obsessions! LOL

So friends, if you would like to get the free ticket just subscribe to my blog AND like my Facebook page www.facebook.com/glamourose.ca , leave me a message and I will contact you if I still have available tickets for you! Once you are in my circle you will definitely be informed when the next sale is and have a chance to get the tickets! :)

This weekend is the NARS / Shiseido Warehouse Sale, so make-up junkies see you there!

Make Up Steals and Deals

I remember when I just started working in Manila, I can only afford to buy the local make-up brands like Ever Bilena and Fashion 21. Once a year , after getting our yearly bonus, then I'd be able to buy brands like Revlon, L'oreal and Max Factor :) Thanks to my friend Joan, who encouraged me to move to Singapore, there I started to build my make-up collection of mostly MAC cosmetics and some other high end brands. When I moved to Canada I was ecstatic as this is where MAC was founded, thinking I can get better deals here. But NO, MAC never goes on sale! Until I found out one day that every quarter Estee Lauder, which is MAC's mother company, holds a warehouse sale BUT it's by invitation only. Needless to say, I found my way into their guest list so I'd receive their invites which some people sells at $20 per ticket! It was a make-up heaven! Rows after rows of make-up which spreads into 3 buildings at a very good price! Still pricier than the drugstore make up but definitely a good deal as compared to their regular price.

Anyways, fast forward to today, I'm a mom now with more responsibilites and more bills to pay. I can't make myself spend money on cosmetics as I used to. An $18 lipstick can buy a big box of baby wipes, or a $45 foundation is almost a day's worth of daycare fee. Although my hubby is very generous when it comes to my wants, it's the guilt feeling that stops me from spending money on myself instead of my son. I'm sure a lot of mommies out there can relate :) So now, I'm always on the lookout for good quality make up at a very good price. In short, I'm looking for Ever Bilena of Canada :) I did a lot of research, watched videos and reviews and now I'm here to share it with you!

Eyeshadow - MAC vs Essence

I found the Essence brand of make up at Shoppers Drugmart. What interests me was the price, it starts from $1.49 and nothing in their line is more than $5! And it is made from Germany, which is the more surprising part.
Essence Cappucino, please! @ $2.49 2.5g, MAC Shroom @ $18 1.5g, need I say more? :)

Here's the swatch on my hands and brow bone, can you tell the difference?

Essence on the left and MAC on the right

Now my goal is to find as many MAC dupes as I can find from their line :)

Lipstick - MAC vs Revlon

I'm into purple/lavander shade of lipstick lately so here's what I found:
MAC - Heroine @ $18 , Revlon - Berry @ $6 - on sale, Covergirl - Embrace @ $8
Here's the swatch:

Revlon on the left and MAC on the right, can't tell the difference as well

From one of the blogs I've read, they said there's a lot of MAC dupes from Revlon line, so I'll try to find more :)

Here are some more stuff I found to be of good quality at a very good price:

Hard Candy found at Walmart. Primer $ 7, concealer $6 . The primer is so silky , comparable to Smashbox @ $ 44 . Concealer claims to hide tattoos!

Another product from Essence, this liner really stays! I think I got it for $2.49 as well.

By the way, here's my latest haul from the MAC warehouse sale last month, they now carry Coach and Michael Kors products! I still splurge once in a while but these are mostly for Christmas gifts :)

Highlighter - I'm obsessed with highlighters right now, loving the J. Lo glow look!
Elf Baked Highlighter in Blush Gems ($1.50 @50% off deal ) , Essence Metal Glam in Gold Digger ($3.99), The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer ($24)
Elf Baked Highlighter in Blush Gems ($1.50 @50% off deal ) , Essence Metal Glam in Gold Digger ($3.99), The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer ($24)

Swatch: Elf, Essence, The Balm
Swatch: Elf, Essence, The Balm

I love the Essence the most, but they are a limited edition and I can't find it at any Shopper's Drugmart now, hence I bought the Mary-Lou Manizer. The Elf baked highlighter is ok but it is not too refined, like the other 2 but still does the job, and at that price you will never go wrong. :)

Bronzer -Matte - I use this to contour my face.
Essence in 02 Sunny ($3.99), NYC Smooth Skin in Sunny ($4), Marc Jacobs O'Mega Bronze ($59)
Essence in 02 Sunny ($3.99), NYC Smooth Skin in Sunny ($4), Marc Jacobs O'Mega Bronze ($59)

Essence, NYC, Marc Jacobs
Essence, NYC, Marc Jacobs

I like NYC better than the Essence coz it looks more natural on me and the Essence bronzer has this strong coconut smell! I included Marc Jacobs here coz its so big (1oz) I think it will last me forever so it's worth the money. It also has more staying power than the other 2.

Bronzer- Shimmer - I use this as a blush/contour.
Physician's Formula pH Matchmaker ($5.99 on clearance), Maybelline Fit Me on Golden Tan ($8), NARS Laguna (mini duo @ $27)

PF, Maybelline, NARS
PF, Maybelline, NARS

It's kinda obvious I love the Maybelline the most :) I'm kinda disappointed with the NARS Laguna, it doesn't seem to be pigmented and just gives shimmer. PF is ok but sometimes I look muddy when I overdo it, LOL

Blush - To highlight my cheekbones :)
NYX Pinched ($10 in Canada boo hoo ), Milani Luminoso ($8), NARS Orgasm ( $27 mini duo)

NYX, Milani, NARS
NYX, Milani, NARS

Most bloggers/vloggers claims that Nyx Pinched and Milani Luminoso are the dupes of NARS Orgasm. I think the combination of Nyx and Milani is the the perfect dupe of NARS :) . I love them all, it gives natural blush effect on my skin.

Ultimate Steal

Sephora always comes up with their Holiday Make Up Palettes and I got mine in 2011. At $59 I think this is a real deal. This palette contains:
- 96 eye shadow shades - 84 shiny lip glosses - 6 cream eyeliners - 2 eyeliner pencils - 3 blushes - 1 bronzer - 1 mascara - 4 applicators
I've swatched some of my MAC shadows and they are a perfect dupe.
MAC color on left, Sephora on right
MAC color on left, Sephora on right

I think I'll get the 2014 version when it comes out :) This is my go to palette when I'm not sure what look I want to go for. It has all the colors you can imagine or the colors that you might not buy on its own and it's good to experiment with. :) It is very pigmented and lasts long too!
A few tips too, when I go to Sephora I always check out the bins by the cashier, coz they usually sell the mini versions of make up there and if I just want to try something before I buy the regular size I will buy the "try it" version first . :) At Target , I read somwhere that they usually change their make up deals on Fridays, so I try to stop by to check out what they have on sale. I was able to buy some at clearance or temporary price cut (usually 50% off )! You can also check out www.saleevent.ca, they are the organizer of Revlon Warehouse sale here . I was able to get my favorite drugstore makeup there at half the price and it is free shipping on orders $49 and up, they are very quick too! Another site worth checking out is www.nailpolishcanada.com, aside from nail polishes they also carry cosmetics! They offer free shipping with no minimum order and their customer service is awesome! I also signed up at elf coz they always have their 50% off sale, it just sucks that their free shipping is only in the States and it is only discounted shipping in Canada :(, but it is still good!
That's it for now, until next time! :)
